2 Types of Thinking Styles:

Intelligence does not play a role in these two styles - it is simply a difference in learning and thinking styles.

Non-Verbal Learners

  • Mainly think in pictures

  • 3-dimensional thinkers

  • Multi-sensory images

  • Mental images evolve and grow when more information or concepts added

  • Little, if any, internal dialogue

  • Thought process is 1000 times faster than verbal thinking

Verbal Learners

  • Think in words rather than pictures

  • Have an internal dialogue

  • Linear thinkers

  • Follow the structure of language

  • Compose mental sentences

  • One word at a time

  • Words composed at same speed as speech
